History

Founded in 1999 in Fairbanks, Alaska, Alasconnect was built on a simple but powerful idea: technology should serve people, not the other way around. Born out of Golden Valley Electric Association, we set out to provide business technology solutions that made life simpler, connections stronger, and ambitions possible.

In 2009, we launched our state-of-the-art Data Center, expanding our ability to deliver secure, reliable infrastructure to businesses across Alaska and beyond. This milestone reinforced our commitment to not just building systems — but building trust.

In 2015, Alasconnect joined the Matanuska Telecom Association (MTA) family, aligning with a pioneer that built Alaska’s first all-terrestrial fiber link to the Lower 48. Together, we expanded our capabilities, strengthened our reach, and deepened our focus on delivering technology with a human touch.
